Just cuz

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when?" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

1. Name: Dylan. I'm fond of it, as most people are of their name. Most people don't know how to spell it right even though it's the most common spelling of the name. People also love to add 'I' to make it Dillion or something like that. I've heard the same story from other people, about people adding I's into their name. A guy called the other day at work and I spelled his last name correct and he told me I was the first person to do that (his last name was Sebastian, the standard, only spelling I know of). So yeah, people are stupid, especially around Auburn and Puyallup.

2. Age: 22. I turn 23 in very little time. 13 days to be more precise. I'm getting old, but I know a lot of people that didn't graduate from college until their mid to late 20s.

3. Location: Puyallup for another week. Then I'm moving to Seattle (Wedgwood).

4. Occupation: Office bitch at a doctor's office. It's okay.

5. Partner: Nada. Rayna and I have been broken up for about 10 days. Not really looking for one at the moment, as I'll be pretty busy with school and work. If someone comes along and is okay with my situation I suppose I'd be open to a limited relationship.

6. Kids: I honestly don't think I want to have kids. It sounds really selfish, but the only reason I would is if I get bored with doing everything else. I'd be a good dad, though.

7. Brothers/Sisters: Dustin. We see each other a few times a year. Not as close as we used to be when I was in high school. He's 27.

8. Pets: I don't really want pets either. I love animals, I just don't like taking care of anything other than myself. I suppose I was dad to a Chinese Crested named Rhama, see him about once a week or so and I'm kind of ex-dad.

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
- I'm moving to Seattle. It's a huge change and it was very unexpected (this early, at least). My apartment complex gave us a letter on the 10th saying we needed to leave our apartment at the end of the month. We weren't evicted, they are remodeling and I guess got impatient with us (they are pieces of shit). So instead of move to another apartment here for $500 deposit and $150 more per month for rent, my friend Brandon and I will be moving to Seattle. We had planned to do it at the end of September. It's still weird to think I'll very rarely see Puyallup in the future.
- I'm training to do the StP. I got myself a road bike about a month ago, I've put around 500 miles on it including a 100 mile ride last weekend (Flying Wheels event). My longest before that was 60 miles so I wasn't sure how I'd hold up but I felt great at the end of the ride, like I could have gone another 50. I wasn't sore the next day but it did suck the energy out of me for a little while. I suppose this ties in with wanting to lose some weight/
- I want a new job. Living in Seattle and I'll be commuting to Auburn for work. Hopefully it won't be too bad, but I want to get a job closer to home (it's not home yet). I'm currently looking at UW Medical Center, as I have 2 years experience in healthcare.
- I'm going back to school in the fall. To real school, not online at Highline Community College anymore. I'm worried about trying to re-teach myself calculus after about 4 years. Otherwise, I'm going into statistics and genetics as a side thing. After I get my degree I'd like to work toward a masters in Biostatistics at UW.

10. What did you go to school for? I just answered that. But I'm not done with school. I've taken mostly Gen. Ed. though.

11. Parents: My mom is definitely a lot closer to me than my dad. I don't talk to either of them much more than once or twice a month. My mom works at Weyerhaeuser and is tired of working there (she's been there 20 years). My dad babysits my nieces because he's been disabled (read: not cleared to work) since getting a heart transplant in 1996.

12. Close Friends:
Brandon: my friend that I'm moving to Seattle with. If I'm hanging out with someone, probability states it's Brandon. We have an eerily similar sense of humor to where we can have "inside jokes" that don't even have a history/exist. Like he would reference something from pop culture that we don't necessarily have a history with (i.e. lyrics to a song) and he could say it to 1000 people and I'd be the only one to get the joke. He can be smelly, but he's a good friend.

Rayna: Even though we broke up we still talk to each other about every other day, we just don't say 'I love you' anymore. I'm not sure why Rayna broke up with me, but I tend to believe it has to do with the fact that our relationship has fizzled and because she's leaving in 2 months for Israel and I'm moving up to Seattle. Oddly enough, the day I found out we had to move was the same day that Rayna broke up with me (I say that, but it was somewhat mutual, she didn't say "I'm brakeing up with you", she just brought it up and I agreed).

Derek: friend I'm living with for only another week. We'll probably only see each other a few times a year now, but we're still cool. I used to work out every day with him.

Not really any other close friends. I like Bill and Ashley at work, but there's this thing about considering coworkers friends (because we never see each other outside of work).

The new IT guy doesn't talk a whole lot. He's sort of what you would expect of an IT guy. Then again, most people aren't extremely talkative the first month.

What's up with you?

Nada. Work's going great for me - all my coworkers seem to be Bill clones, and I'm doing some really interesting and important stuff for the company.

Did you assume he was Asian too? How's Fred and everyone else?

Fred has been busy with a lack of a biller, but he's just fine. Things change but it's always the same story here. The retarded people are still retarded, the cool people are still cool. No real news.

Sounds like the usual SSDD syndrome. You have no idea how glad I am to be out of there. Truth be told, the day I left, I got in my car and whooped and hollered with joy.
